The terms fragrance, scent, or aroma are used primarily by the food and cosmetic industry to describe a pleasant odor, and is sometimes used to refer to perfumes.
For most people, the process of smelling gives little information concerning the ingredients of a substance. It only offers information related to the emotional impact. Experienced people, however, such as flavorists and perfumers, can pick out individual chemicals in complex mixes through smell alone.

JAMERO CALLINS TO UNVEIL OREMAJ FRAGRANCE COLLECTION. A New Men’s and Women’s Fragrance Available Nationwide In October.

NEW YORK August 13, 2004 -- Jamero Callins will unveil a new men’s and women’s fragrance collection called Oremaj. Oremaj fragrance collection invokes an immediate rush of freshness, exhilaration and verve.

The collection, Oremaj Woman and Oremaj Man, celebrates the manifest destiny of the everyman/woman with a mantra of “Make It Happen,” an enthusiastic celebration of life with purpose. The underlying theme, “nothing is impossible if you work hard and believe,” metamorphoses as an olfactory infusion in both fragrances.

How does Alabama native son, Jamero Callins propose to make it happen in the competitive world of fragrance?

“I pondered the fact that I was approaching my 28th birthday and I hadn’t yet discovered my purpose. As sentimental as it may sound, I uttered a simple prayer unto God asking Him to reveal my true destiny. Suddenly, I envisioned a fragrance line and immediately thereafter I saw the name Oremaj. Once the vision gained momentum, there came an onslaught of ideas revolving in my imagination. Since that time every resource I’ve required has gravitated to me by asking, seeking and knocking. I realize now that once a person discovers their true destiny, heaven and earth rushes to the occasion to make it happen.”

Oremaj Man targets men of all ages. Attitude rather than age is the primary and determining factor affecting the consumer’s selection. Oremaj Man represents a purpose driven man. Masculine energy, passion, sophistication and character encapsulate the juice which is based upon a lyrical blend of ingredients. The scent opens with accords of bergamot, lime and lavender. The heart features a blend of basil, patchouli, jasmine, rose and sage, while the base includes tonka, leather, musk and moss.

The cologne will come in 4.0 oz. /120ml and 2.0 oz. /60ml sizes for a suggested retail price of $62.50 and $42.50, respectively. Slated for a spring launch will be an After Shave and Body Oil Roll-On Stick.

Oremaj Woman is a floral scent with a surprisingly empowering base and passionate middle, representing the epitome of a woman determined to achieve her destined purpose. Oremaj Woman is an assertive scent destined to create a lasting bond with the consumer. The top notes include mandarin, violet and clary sage. The middle notes are rose, lily of the valley, tarragon and ginger. The bottom notes include amber, musk, sandal, vanilla and tonka.

The Eau de Parfum will be offered in a 4.0 oz/120ml (suggested retail price: $60) and 2.0 oz/60ml (suggested retail price: $45). A spring launch of a bath collection will feature a Bath and Body Gel, Body Oil Spray (Sheer Body Oil) and Luxurious Body Cream.

Also debuting are soap bars created by New York-based soap maker Tamela Cumberbatch. A delicately pink Oremaj Woman Soap Bar and an Oremaj Man Exfoliating Soap Bar will be offered at the suggested retail price: $13.50.

For a limited time, Oremaj Man and Oremaj Woman will offer a Gift With Purchase CD featuring a mini-film depicting the Oremaj Salute to Life, Love, Liberty and Purpose designed to encourage one to start and/or press forward along their journey towards destiny.

The development of the Oremaj fragrance line will be overseen by Jamero Callins, President of Oremaj Group LLC, Michele Cannon and Valerie Wright.

Michèle Cannon, a partner of Innovatus Productions LLC based in New York, brings extensive production and performing experience combined with several years spent in the fragrance industry in various positions, which prompted her to anticipate the development of her own fragrance and beauty line once she had made solid strides in her artistic career. “While I may have set the plans, God is certainly ordering the steps. Oremaj just happened one day as the result of an unexpected phone call placed by Callins inquiring about fragrance development opportunities. I could tell instinctively that I needed to assist this budding entrepreneur.” Cannon introduced Callins to Roger A. Howell, Chief Perfumer, The Lebermuth Company, Inc. and Oremaj was born. Cannon remembers, “When I first breathed in Oremaj Man, the allurement was phenomenal. I knew a classic had been created and that the world had to experience this work of art.”

Cannon turned to her friend, fellow producer, writer, actress and marketing executive, Valerie Wright, for marketing and advertising assistance. Wright’s understanding of the importance of consumer identification allowed her to foresee the tremendous potential of Oremaj as a lifestyle brand, especially when Cannon verbalized the vision for Oremaj Man. “When a man discovers his purpose, heaven and earth rushes to the occasion. Oremaj, Make it happen!”

Industry sources estimated the scents could generate retail sales of $5-7 million during their first 12 months on counter in the U.S. Callins and Cannon are working on distribution, but it is expected that the fragrances will enter a tightly edited lineup of high-end specialty store doors and/or an exclusive arrangement with a major retailer with whom Callins is to make a presentation in late August. In the meantime, the ambitious and dynamic Callins is currently leading a grassroots marketing campaign. Callins, Cannon and Wright have been rallying their respective professional and social networks which include corporate, media, entertainment, social and religious organizations to create a buzz and aid sales. Callins recognizes that heavily advertised luxury fragrance brands may project a well-established and seemingly overwhelming presence; however, he believes that the consumer will always appreciate a fine fragrance which speaks to the very heart of a man or woman.

Callins surmises reverentially, “While there are many great fragrances being launched, Oremaj is unique because it has emerged as an incredible answer to a simple prayer.”
